I Stopped scripting at 1 minute.
This particular news story relates to a lot of things that my classmates and I learned about in Hilliard's textbook (so far). In addition to relating this news story to my assigned reading, I noticed a number of comparisons and differences when it comes to a news story and a commercial. Those three observations include: First thing I noticed was the reporter said "um," and "uh" a couple of times during her sentences. You would not see that in a commercial unless it was supposed to be there. When someone watches a news story and the reporter says "um" "uh" we the viewer know that it wasn't in her script. The second thing I noticed was the reporter included the who, what, where, and why in the lead of the story. My third observation is the running time of a news story. Most news stories run between 30-90 seconds, while commercial typically only last for 30 seconds.
I hope you enjoyed reading my post as much as I enjoyed scripting the McQueen news story. Until next time!
R.I.P. Mr. McQueen, you were a very talented man.

EXCELLENT work, Sierra.
ReplyDeleteWell scripted, and your observations are spot on
Why do you suppose they didn't include any background music with the story? To emphasize the serious nature of the story, perhaps?
Curious,
Dr. W
I was wondering the same thing. Kinda thought they should have played something soothing to the mood when they showed his photographs.
